Mateo Ortega | Office Manager

Mateo is the office manager and a designer here at Satin & Slate, working on both residential and commercial projects from initial concept through city plan approval. Unlike most designers on the team, Mateo’s path started in construction rather than a design program, giving him a hands-on understanding of how spaces actually get built long before he ever drafted a floor plan. He’s currently pursuing a degree in Finance, which adds a practical, numbers-savvy edge to his design work, balancing creative vision with real budgets and timelines.

Outside the office, Mateo’s up early for coffee and the local car scene before hitting the gym, bringing the same discipline to his mornings that he brings to every project.

Alexia George | Interior Designer

Alexia is an interior designer known for creating elevated, thoughtfully curated spaces that blend timeless design, functionality, and the unique personality of each client. With a passion for architectural details, Alexia approaches every project with a vision that transforms houses and businesses into spaces that feel both beautiful and deeply personal. Inspired by the balance between luxury and livability, Alexia believes great design is found in the details – from architectural elements and textures to lighting, furnishings, and the way a space supports everyday living. Her design philosophy centers around creating timeless interiors that reflect the client’s lifestyle while enhancing the beauty and value of the space. Through a creative yet detail-driven approach, Alexia helps clients navigate the design process with confidence, delivering spaces that are sophisticated, functional, and uniquely their own.
